Knowing the whole betting system gives you an edged when playing the roulette. The most important thing to remember is that the probability circles of a roulette game never changes. If the wheel have been hitting a red for ten times in a row, the probability that it will hit a red the next spin is 1.

However the major factor that determines the probability calculations is the house advantage. It is important to know that the American wheel and the European wheel are different and operate differently. The European wheel has a single zero slot while the American wheel has a double zero sloth which may be a disadvantage to the player.

Roulette Bets

The easiest bets to make are the basics. A red or a black, a high or low, and an odd or an even bet is the most basic and simplest bets one can make. The probability of this bets are usually between 50% or somewhat below it. The problem with these basics is that the player barely breaks even. If he does, it is not that high. At the end of the game, the player finds out that he is hovering around the even mark losing a little or gaining not that much.

1. The player can also use the system of placing inside bets. These bets are specific to single numbers, two adjacent numbers, a street bet which is placing a bet on a row of numbers and finally corner bets. A Corner bets involve the bets a player places on an intercession of lines on the gird. These kinds of bets give the player several opportunities to top the bet and win the trophy of the roulette game.
2. The straight bet involves just one number and the ratio of the probability is 37 to1. For the split bets and the street bets, they consist of two and three numbers respectively. Their probability is 18 to1 for the split bet and 12 to1 for the street bet. The corner bet has the greater chance. It involves four numbers and the odds are 7 to1.
3. Some other players indulge in the sucker bet. This is the bet on five numbers and the ratio is 6 to1. It has the highest pay out and at the same time carries the greatest risk among all the systems of betting. Therefore the sucker bets are for players who are brave and can shoulder the risk of losing a bet.

Most importantly, which ever motive one plays a game of roulette, a player should at all times know the roulette odds. The bet that can happen to a player is to play smartly and to play his best.
